LaVar Ball
The patriarch of the family, LaVar Ball is a proud dad, media personality, and businessman. The celebrity father swore that his sons – LaMelo, LiAngelo, and Lonzo – would put Chino Hills on the map because of their incredible basketball skills. Guess what? The boys have been doing just that.
Tina Ball
The matriarch of the family, Tina often seems to get lost in the shuffle of things. She is, nonetheless, the proud mother of Lonzo, LaMelo, and LiAngelo. Tina has a bit of mainstream success of her own as she collaborated with Alick Bush and Eric Emerson to publish Psychological interventions for severely challenging behaviors shown by people with learning disabilities: clinical practice guidelines in 2004. Tina returned to the public scene in July after suffering a stroke in February that led to her being unable to speak for several months. We won’t talk about the awkward comments that LaVar made concerning his wife’s recovery because this paragraph is about Tina!
Lonzo Ball
Is he the next Kobe or Michael? Perhaps not, but Lonzo Ball is certainly making his mark in basketball. the oldest child of LaVar and Tina was picked by the Los Angeles Lakers during the 2017 NBA Draft. Lonzo previously played ball for the UCLA Bruins and, of course, high school basketball at Chino Hills. The cool thing about the Lakers choosing Lonzo is that he’s only 19-years-old. We know someone else who started playing for the Los Angeles Lakers at age 19. He turned out to be one of the greatest of all time.
