Darius Rucker had his son, Jack, by his side as he raised upwards of $1 million for charity at his benefit concert that came ahead of the CMT Music Awards last week. The singer garnered the funds in support of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
“You can’t help but be moved by the amazing work that St. Jude does,” Rucker told media after last Monday’s festivities concluded. “To raise this kind of money and awareness for them … for the families that rely on St. Jude, it’s just incredible,” he added. “I’m so grateful to all our friends who came out and donated their time to be on the show,” Rucker concluded in his statement.
St. Jude Children’s Hospital takes health care to another level by giving kids with life-threatening illnesses the medical treatment and personal attention they need to remain in good spirits during challenging times. The hospital is known for housing patients with brain tumors, Leukemia/Lymphoma, and other diseases free of charge. St. Jude is one of few medical centers in which parents of ailing children can rest assured that their little ones are receiving top-notch care without having to worry about the monstrous hospital bill. At St. Jude, the focus is truly on the well-being of the patient. Learn more about the research hospital here.
