On May 22nd at Yamashiro in Hollywood, famed designers Brian Wolk and Claude Morais showed their 5th collection, and of course there were a who’s who of guest list attendees, including our favorite fashionistas, Disney star Skai Jackson and Lethal Weapon’s Chandler Kinney.
“For our feather looks we are honored to work with Catherine D’lish, an incredible burlesque performer known for her unique ability to craft magnificent feather creations,” commented Wolk to The Daily. “For the color palate of the collection we did a deep dive into the photography of Sheila Metzner, it all stared with a picture she took of Molly Ringwald in a floral suit. This image led us on a super exciting journey through her extraordinary work. There was also a nod to street culture of Melrose Avenue where we often spend our Saturdays taking in its district youth culture, and it’s rock/punk jewelry sensibility, which inspired our gold link suspenders and chains, which we made specially for the collection.”
This was the first fashion show ever held at Yamashiro in its 100-plus year history. Wolk and Morais have also partnered with Teen Cancer America and have created a cloisonné awareness pin. The pin will be available for purchase later this summer. To find out how you can help and get involved, click here.
