Marsha Ambrosius had the support of her daughter, Nyla, and fiance, Dez Billups, at her concert in Minneapolis last week. The singer took pictures with her family outside of First Avenue before delivering a smash hit performance at State Theatre.
“Being in Minneapolis… with my family! MY FAMILY,” Marsha captioned underneath one photo of her, Nyla, and Dez taking a picture in front of an image of a star attributed to the late Prince. “Looking into my daughters eyes, telling her that where we were standing was the reason why we were STANDING there!!!! FIRST AVENUE,” she added.

“I once performed Darling Nikki during a sound check on that stage opening for GANGSTARR @talibkweli and @common KANYE was rolling with that tour too,” Marsha explained. “Extremely emotional. Yesterday was a day I will never forget and @dezsofly your understanding of the levels of importance this was to not only me but for US, let’s me know you’re the greatest EVER.”
Marsha and Dez welcomed their daughter last December. A few fans were shocked to hear of Ambrosius’ labor and delivery experience since they were not aware that she was pregnant.
“It’s weird reading the comments like, ‘Oh, I didn’t know Marsha Ambrosius is pregnant,” Marsha shared with EBONY before giving birth to Nyla. “I don’t know half of these people on Twitter or Instagram, as if I’m supposed to call every single person and go, ‘Hey guys. I’m pregnant!'”

Little Nyla will celebrate her first birthday around Christmas time. It will be interesting to see how Marsha and Dez commemorate their daughter’s milestone.
