It was just a few years ago that Rachel took her daughter to Ghana in an effort to show her a different world where kids Ava’s age are less fortunate. “It was eye-opening,” Ava said of her trip during an interview with Teen Vogue. “The kids weren’t that different from me; they just needed support.”
In addition to sharing about her trip overseas, Ava told media that she completely values her mother’s opinion. “I trust her opinion,” the teen revealed. “She reminds me to be strong, kind, and self-aware.”
