Ed Hartwell has experienced a change of heart. The star athlete now wants joint custody of his and ex-wife Keshia Knight Pulliam’s daughter, Ella Grace, months after questioning his fathering of the little one.
TMZ recently obtained court documents in which Ed presents a letter from ex-wife Lisa Wu who speaks in favor of his parenting abilities. “I am never worried about my child when he is with his dad, I know his dad will do everything within his power to love, protect and provide for EJ while he is not with me,” the celebrity mom said in her letter. Wu further explained, “I am positive that [Hartwell] will put his daughter’s best interest first as he has shown with my children.”
It was just a few weeks ago that Ed Hartwell asked for a break in child support payments after admitting his fathering of Ella Grace. “Ed Hartwell filed new docs in his pending divorce from the former TV star, and admits he’s their newborn daughter’s dad … as results from his long-awaited paternity test proved,” TMZ reported. However, “Ed says he shouldn’t have to start shelling out dough yet — at least not until a court decides exactly how much he should pay in child support.”
Hartwell is still willing to pay child support to his former wife for their daughter despite asking for joint custody of Ella Grace. Stay tuned for more details surrounding the case!
