Who can steal the spotlight while surrounded by the likes of Marjorie Harvey and Pharrell Williams? Amandla Sternberg, that’s who. The young star sat front-row-and-center at the Chanel Fall 2017 ready-to-wear show at the Grand Palais in Paris, France, and her outfit grabbed all of the attention.

Amandla wore a black dress coupled with black boots by Chanel. Some coined the outfit as unique as it pointed to a more somber mood. Amandla certainly owned the style at the show as she took several pictures outside of the venue.

Stenberg certainly isn’t afraid to push the limits of society. The actress took the time to address issues of race and sexism last year during an interview with ELLE magazine.

“I don’t feel afraid to talk about racism or to talk about sexism or the gender binary because I feel like it’s important and necessary and that importance outweighs any potential backlash that I can receive,” Amandla explained. “I’m lucky because the most dangerous thing that could happen to me is that someone will say something mean on a computer screen miles away and so I feel like if that’s all that I’m facing then why would I not use my platform to talk about things?”

The actress went on to tell the editorial, “I think something that’s really important to me is trying to do what I can from my position of power that comes with having a social media platform to dismantle certain systems that I think are really gross and harmful.”

Amandla Stenberg received much notoriety after her smash hit performance in Hunger Games. The young star has since broadened her horizons into the publishing industry and become an advocate for equal rights.
