Tasha Cobbs is an instant mom! The Gospel recording artist married her long-term boyfriend, Kenneth Leonard, over the weekend and immediately took on the role of stepmom to his three children.
“I love my family,” Tasha shared with Instagram fans after the ceremony. “Blended families rock,” she added along with a picture of her, Kenneth, and the kids.
The ‘Break Every Chain’ singer and her husband surprised loved ones with a wedding ceremony this past weekend. All attendees thought they were coming to a family dinner. They were pleasantly surprised when Tasha made her way down the aisle in her wedding gown.
“After a year of pre-marital counseling and much planning, the timing was finally perfect,” The couple told media. “It was incredible to be able to surprise those closest to us!”
It was just last year that Tasha Cobbs got candid about her past struggles with depression and the steps that she took to overcome the illness in an open letter to ESSENCE. The singer stressed the importance of talking about mental illness instead of ignoring the issue.
“Our culture and churches in general, should put more focus on depression and people who struggle with mental health,” Tasha wrote. “From what I’ve experienced in sharing my testimony with different people it’s something way more prevalent than we acknowledge, and I am willing to stand on the frontline as a leader in our culture and address the mental health issues we have been ignoring.”
Tasha Cobbs has been active in the music industry for several years, though her album Grace increased her notoriety in 2013. The singer’s latest record titled One Place Live is also popular.
