Lauren London is responding to critics who attempted to fat shame her after viewing a picture of her and Nipsey Hussle at a basketball game. The actress, who recently gave birth to a child, was sitting front and center in the photo that some trolls deemed sad.
“I get it that it’s common to get pregnant and gain weight but if you think Lauren London looks just as good now Google an optometrist,” One critic wrote online. Another troll compared Lauren’s post-pregnancy experience to that of Kim Kardashian. “Kim K’s body bounced back from 2 children without surgery, what’s Lauren London’s problem,” he asked.
Lauren London did not take time to respond to every critic individually but instead shared a post on Instagram that explained her confidence in this post-pregnancy era. “I’ve been getting compliments on my looks for years,” Lauren said. “I never let it ‘gas me’ because I knew the enduring value in all things is internal.”
London went on to tell fans, “When I decided to have my son, I knew the Internet would be cruel. I knew that casting directors would consider me out of commission for at least a year. I knew that my body would change, but I did not let the fear of these things effect me to the point of going against my spirit. I asked myself: ‘Would you rather be at conflict with yourself and at peace with the world? Or at peace with yourself and at conflict with the world? I chose the latter, at that moment I was ready for whatever came with it. This lil weight will be worked off and who I am will be uncompromised. Win-win no?”
Lauren London and boyfriend Nipsey Hussle welcomed their son, Kross, last August. The little one joined Lauren’s older son, Cameron, at home.
