Adam Mwale is the father of Madonna’s newly adopted twins, Estere and Stelle, who says that he had no idea that he was giving up his parental rights.
“I was told from the start that Esther and Stella were going to a rich woman’s home abroad, that she would give them a good education, then return them to me, to live with me and help all of my family,” Adam tells Daily Mail. The twins’ father thought that Madonna would foster his children not take full guardianship of them.
“Now you are telling me the adoption is permanent. That cannot be true – I don’t want it to be true,” Mwale shares. “I am their father and I will always be their father.”
Madonna took to Instagram last week to announce the finalization of her adopting Estere and Stelle. “I can officially confirm I have completed the process of adopting twin sisters from Malawi and am overjoyed that they are now part of our family,” the ‘Material Girl’ singer revealed.

Many congratulated Madonna on going through the proper channels to be the girls’ official guardian but Adam Mwale says that trickery was involved in the process.
“I accepted they would go abroad but I was told they would also be coming back. They would always be my children, and I would always be their daddy,” he explains. “The orphanage boss told me it would be a wonderful chance for my little girls, and for their brother and sisters at home. I was told to agree with everything in court. I did not believe I would never see my girls again.”
Estere and Stelle are Madonna’s fifth and sixth children. The twins’ adoption marks the third time that the Pop singer adopted children from Malawi.
