Angelina Jolie was joined by her kids at this weekend’s screening of First They Killed My Father. The celebrity mom and her youngsters waved at paparazzi who took pictures of the family at the Terrace of the Elephants in Angkor Wat, Cambodia.
Angelina’s appearance was her first with the kids since news of her and estranged husband Brad Pitt’s impending divorce spread. “I don’t want to say very much about that, except to say it was a very difficult time and we are a family, and we will always be a family,” Jolie told BBC News in a recent interview. “Many people find themselves in this situation,” the actress added. “My whole family have all been through a difficult time.”
Despite challenges arising in her personal life, Angelina has persevered to direct a moving film about Loung Ung’s life as a child during the Pol Pot regime in Phnom Penh during the 1970s. First They Killed My Father shows how Ung quickly goes from a privileged child to young soldier when her family disperses for survival’s sake.
