Before getting into the emotional story that is Cars 3 this summer, you and the family will be presented with the short narrative of LOU.
LOU is the “Lost and Found” box that prevents a bully from wreaking havoc at recess. The intimidating kid who loves to steal toys from his classmates will learn the meaning of respect with the lively chest as his unwanted guide.
Pixar has become known for their short films that precede feature motion pictures in theaters. The clips take full advantage of every moment by presenting imagery that captivates viewers and providing solutions to societal issues. LOU will follow in that tradition and forgoes a film that centers around the concept of perseverance.
Lighting McQueen is faced with the challenge of starting again after an accident threatens his career in Cars 3. The star race car must work smart and hard if he hopes to beat Jackson Storm who is the future of racing.
“Lightning McQueen, he’s awesome,” Chief Creative Officer John Lasseter told Entertainment Weekly last year. “We’ve got some great new characters, some great racing in it. It’s a very emotional story. It’s a little bit more akin to Cars 1, where you get into a deep emotion with him. It’s really a special story. It’s very emotional and his relationship with Doc Hudson, and his memory of Doc Hudson.”
Cars 3 comes to theaters on June 16, 2017. Check out the film’s teaser below!
