Blu Ivy, the five-year-old daughter of Beyonce and Jay Z, has been in the spotlight since the day she was born, and now it would seem as if she is about to become even more of a household name. It has been recently reported that Blu Ivy’s famous mom is taking steps to ensure that the tiny kindergartner tops the list of up-and-coming mini moguls.
According to filed legal documentation, Beyonce is seeking to reserve the right to trademark her daughter’s full name-Blu Ivy Carter for commercial usage. This is not the first time that the “Formation” singer has reportedly sought to reserve the rights to her daughter’s name. In 2012, trademark papers were filed with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office for the name “Blu Ivy” yet their request was denied because there is already a Boston-based party planning firm, that has been in operation under the name Blue Ivy Events, since 2009.
By seeking to trademark Blu Ivy’s full name, it looks as if the application will be approved, and a line of Blu Ivy Carter products ranging from clothing to hair care, to mobile devices, to video games and more will soon be available for purchase. Stay tuned to this story as we are sure there will be much more to come!
