It’s a hair tutorial gone wrong in the most adorable way. Five-year-old Ryleigh Lynne is reminding us all that the struggle is real when it comes to African-American women and their hair.
The little one’s mother, Tara Watkins, uploaded a video of her daughter attempting to conduct a hair tutorial earlier this week. Everything was going smooth until Ryleigh attempted to tame her mane.
“How do I get this all in the ponytail that mommy does,” the 5-year-old asked. “I’ve got way too much hair,” Ryleigh shared with fans. The little one tried to summon the help of her mom during the video before deciding to give the tutorial another shot.
“Okay guys, I’m back in business,” the youngster told her viewers after taking time away to recuperate. “Let me try to lay my edges down,” she strategized. Although Ryleigh didn’t get the slick hairstyle that she was going for, the little one did salvage the tutorial enough to declare it a success.
“Everyone loved how determined she was,” Tara told Huffington Post. “They even loved her little cute frustration of not being able to get all of her hair up into a ponytail.”
Ryleigh Lynne’s hair tutorial received more than one million views on Facebook and upwards of six thousand comments. Many could not get over the youngster’s personality and shared the video with their loved ones. Check out Ryleigh Lynne’s viral Facebook post here!
