SHERRI SHEPHERD: ‘I THINK IT’S WORSE FOR A CHILD WITH TWO PARENTS NOT GETTING ALONG’

Critics who have accused Sherri Shepherd of abandoning her son, Lamar Sally Jr., with ex-husband Lamar Sally Sr. can relax those claims. The celebrity mom explained the agreement between her and her former spouse during a recent interview on the Dr. Oz show.

“I feel I had a very tight prenup,” Sherri revealed, “but there’s a baby here and I have always said I would take care of his son because he’s here and I make money. I always said I would provide financially.”

Sherri gave further insight into her ex-husband’s petition for increased child support that a California judge denied last month. “I think that what he was asking for allowed for him not to have to work,” Shepherd explained.

“Even now, he never has to worry about anything as long as I’m working. He’s on my health insurance,” the star said of her youngest son. “He’s got a life insurance policy in case anything happens to me. He’ll be taken care of the way Jeffrey [her other son] is. I’ve just chosen to take myself out because I think it’s worse for a child with two parents not getting along.”

Litte Lamar is Sherri Shepherd and Lamar Sally Sr.’s only child together. The celebrity mom also has a son named Jeffrey with ex-husband Jeff Tarpley.
