“It’s nothing like marrying ya best friend.” Teyana Taylor recently shared throwback pictures from her and Iman Shumpert’s wedding ceremony.
In addition to uploading a picture of her and Iman rocking matching biker jackets for their ceremony, Teyana also posted a throwback photo of their daughter, Iman, being in fashion sync with mom and dad. “Love is an emblem of eternity,” Taylor captioned underneath the photo. “It confounds all notion of time, it effaces all memory of a beginning, and all fear on an end.” Little Iman’s jacket bore the phrase, “Oh! … Me too” in reference to writing on the back of her parents’ jackets that affirmed their commitment to one another.
It was just a few weeks ago that Teyana Taylor got candid about motherhood and abortion. “The decision to [have a child] is sensitive for a lot of people,” she told Elle. “You can never really know what goes into that choice. You can never really know a woman’s situation. And for me, it’s very emotional to talk about,” she added.
The singer further delved into the subject of abortion and the way that it has impacted her life. “When I was growing up, I had a lot of friends who had to make these choices,” she shared. “[They] still had growing to do. They had lives they wanted to live. And they were kids still.”
Little Iman Shumpert made Teyana Taylor and her husband parents for the first time last year. She will celebrate her birthday on December 16, 2016.
