Can Halle Berry get a break? The celebrity mom recently shared a picture of her kids and one fan had something negative to say.
“What’s with the hiding of the faces? They’re beautiful children why not show them off,” the critic wrote. Such comment was in response to Halle’s decision to hide Nahla and Maceo’s faces. Many of Halle’s supporters slammed the scrutinizer for her remark by telling the Instagram subscriber that the celebrity mom had liberality to feature her kids as she pleased.
Berry also had a few words. “Let me be clear,” she wrote, “I’m not at all ashamed of children. I try to find creative ways to incorporate them into my feed because they are the biggest part of my life, but I also work very hard to keep their identities as private as I can considering they are only children.”
Halle further rebutted, “It’s my belief, and I’m not criticizing others who have different beliefs, that it’s my job as their mother to protect their privacy as best I can. When they grow and they’re of age and they want share their images on the internet, that will be for them to decide, not me. Feel me? Have a beautiful day.”
Halle Berry joined forces with Jennifer Garner and other celebrity moms in 2013 to push for the passing of an anti-paparazzi bill in California. The proposal, which is now a law, prohibits photographers from harassing children of celebrity parents for the purpose of taking a picture.
“We’re moms here who are just trying to protect our children,” Berry told lawmakers in a hearing. “These are little innocent children who didn’t ask to be celebrities. They didn’t ask to be thrown into this game and they don’t have the wherewithal to process what’s happening. We don’t have a law in place to protect them from this.”
The actress expressed gratitude after Governor Jerry Brown passed the bill. “I started this fight with a great deal of hope and a bit of uncertainty,” she said. “On behalf of my children, it is my hope that this is the beginning of the end for those overly aggressive paparazzi whose outrageous conduct has caused so much trauma and emotional distress.”
Halle Berry is the proud mother of two kids. Nahla celebrated her eighth birthday in March while Maceo rang in his third birthday earlier this month.
