Ayesha Curry is taking television by storm in her new Food Network show called Ayesha’s Homemade. The celebrity mom’s series premieres in coming days and fans of Ayesha cannot be more thrilled.

The idea of a cooking series came from Ayesha’s blog, Little Lights of Mine, which debuted in 2012. “I started a blog mainly because we were on the West Coast and our entire family was on the East Coast,” Ayesha said during an interview in June. “I included some recipes on it and, all of a sudden, I saw people outside the family taking interest.”

The interest of the public inspired Ayesha to further develop her skill as a culinary professional. The celebrity mom debuted her first cookbook called The Seasoned Life: Food, Family, Faith, and the Joy of Eating Well on September 20, 2016. Ayesha’s book has already gotten rave reviews for its personalized approach.

“I wanted it to be my thing and to put in all the work,” Curry said of her decision to plate the dishes herself. “I didn’t want it to look too professional because this book is for the auntie who has never cooked, or for the guy who is trying to impress his girlfriend. I needed it to be genuine, so the photos look like how it will look when you make it.”

Perhaps Mrs. Curry’s transparency is why so many love the book. “The first time I met Ayesha Curry, I knew I had found a kindred spirit,” television personality Rachael Ray says. “Ayesha recognizes the true power of food, how a home-cooked meal can bring a family together, and the importance of getting your kids in the kitchen early,” Ray adds. “Her collection of delicious and accessible recipes reflects who she is as a human–colorful, fresh, and full of flavor!”
