It was a battle of the greats as Shareef O’Neal and Ron Artest III engaged in what could be deemed a showdown earlier this month. Both of the celebrity kids were all-stars on the basketball court.
Shareef, son of Shaquille O’Neal, finished the meet with 18 points behind his name. Ron, son of Metta World Peace, didn’t come too far behind with 14 points. Although Ron made fewer baskets than Shareef, the youngster just began playing basketball a few months ago.
Shaquille O’Neal must be the doting father as his son is recognized as one of best high school basketball players in the nation. Shareef has received numerous college offers since coming out as a star player. “My dad actually wants me to lean towards Kentucky,” the young star told media a few months ago. “He has a good friendship with the coach there. I know a lot about that school because a lot of kids dream about going there. I like their style of play.”
Although he may favor Kentucky, Shaq wants his son to attend the school that makes him happy. “I want him to be able to create his own path,” the former NBA player told 247Sports.
Shaquille O’Neal co-parents five kids with ex-wife Shaunie O’Neal. Metta World Peace has four kids.
