She continues, “If I am feeling negative about something and I just need to get it out in any form of art, it usually has no steps or organization. It has a fire behind it that spits like a dragon, creating a work of art. But when I am calm and somewhat in a positive mood, it’s more methodized and like a river with no bank, that’s directed by intention. I used to just go into the booth and channel any energy that wanted to choose me and record that. But lately I’ve been writing songs outside of the studio and then recording. Mindless creation can be a form of meditation, but there is an intense power in flowing your energy in a certain direction with intent.”
