BRAD PITT IS PREPARING FOR CUSTODY BATTLE AFTER ANGELINA JOLIE FILES FOR DIVORCE

On the heels of Angelina Jolie filing for divorce, Brad Pitt is planning to request shared custody of the kids. A family friend gives In Touch magazine the inside scoop on the couple’s divorce and impending custody agreement.

“Brad will ask for shared custody,” the source tells In Touch. “Their children will always be their chief priority,” adds the family friend. “They will keep up a happy-mom-and-dad facade for those kids.”

Pitt responded to his estranged wife’s request for marriage dissolution in a statement to PEOPLE on Tuesday. “I am very saddened by this, but what matters most now is the well-being of our kids,” he said.

Brad and Angelina were together for several years before deciding to marry. Jolie explained the depth of her commitment to Pitt during an interview with Good Morning America in 2011. “Our commitment when we decided to start a family was the greatest commitment you could possibly have,” she shared. “Once you have six children, you’re committed.”

There is no doubt that Brad and Angelina are dedicated to one another. The former couple’s family friend tells In Touch, “Brad and Angelina love each other, but something went very wrong along the way. They’ve had just one too many fights. It’s sad that it’s come to this.”
