Generations were represented at this year’s BET Hip Hop Awards. The ceremony was held in Atlanta, Georgia, on Saturday and featured Snoop Dogg with his dad and son on the red carpet.
Snoop’s dad wore a suit to the event while the rapper and his son, Cordell, rocked casual wear. Cordell later commented on spending time with his father and grandpa. “Generations,” the young adult shared on Instagram.
Snoop was one of many honored at this year’s BET Hip Hop Awards. The rapper was given the “I Am Hip Hop” award for his outstanding work in the industry that has spanned more than twenty years. Snoop took advantage of his platform by encouraging aspiring artists to cultivate the creativity within.
“Y’all are misunderstood,” Snoop said during his acceptance speech. “I was misunderstood at the beginning. So you got to keep pushing, be original and diverse. Hip-hop was created many years ago and it’s taken people so many places. You have to be who you are.”
Snoop Dogg and his wife, Shante Broadus, are the proud parents of two sons and one daughter. Cordell is the couple’s youngest son.
