Beyonce and Blue Ivy Carter were two of many stars to attend this year’s MTV Music Video Awards. The event was held on Sunday, August 28, 2016, at Madison Square Garden in New York City and featured Bey and her daughter in all of their elegance.
The ‘Formation’ singer wore a beautiful gown that glittered in the spotlight. Bey’s shoulder pads were made of feather and bore the appearance of wings. Blue Ivy was also dressed to impress in a dress fit for a princess. The little one’s nails were painted a bright aqua blue, which gave her look a bit of contrast.
This year’s VMAs were good for Beyonce who received eight awards. Her song ‘Formation’ earned six prizes while ‘Lemonade’ was recognized as the Best Long Form Video.
Bey made serious waves in the music industry with the debut of her visual album. Many interpreted Lemonade as the singer’s way of telling the world about her husband’s infidelity. The track ‘Sorry’ was especially popular as fans deemed Rachel Roy as “Becky with the good hair.”
Blue Ivy Carter is Beyonce and husband Jay-Z’s only child. She celebrated her fourth birthday in January.
