Rachel Roy and her daughters, Ava and Tallulah, were three of many stars to attend the world premiere of Pete’s Dragon at El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood, California, on Monday. The celebrity mom and her girls were the fashion-forward bunch who rocked a mix between semi-formal and casual wear.

Pete’s Dragon is the perfect film for kids to see right before going back to school. The storyline is about a boy named Pete who befriends a dragon named Elliott after becoming an orphan. The relationship that the two share is both touching and adventurous to watch.

Rachel Roy certainly knows about positive relationships as the connection with her daughters has been life-changing. “Having my daughters shaped me into the woman I was meant to be,” she said during an interview last year. “Having them made me want to live up to all that they deserved in a mother and in an example of a woman,” Roy added. “I’m living my life to set an example for my daughters so that–when they see my struggles and successes–they know they can achieve their own goals.”

Rachel Roy has two kids with ex-husband Damon Dash. Pete’s Dragon makes its public debut on Friday.
