Age is only a number for Audra McDonald who is 46-years-old and pregnant. The actress’ doula, Latham Thomas, recently took to Instagram to brag on her client.
“Glow moment with the incomparable, 6-time Tony Award-winning actress (and mama) Audra McDonald,” Latham wrote. “She’s 7 months pregnant y’all and 46 years alive,” the doula added.
Latham went on to encourage women to live free of social constraints. “Please don’t let anyone dictate to you what your body is capable of,” she said. “I’ve stood alongside women in Central and South America in their early 50s who have been pregnant and given birth alongside their daughters. No one ever told them that their eggs were on expiration.”
Thomas further explained, “We have to stop internalizing messages that constantly reinforce the negative belief that we are not enough, that we are inherently flawed because we were born female. We give life. We ARE the creative matrix. The sunshine lies between our thighs. We are mama. Your lifestyle is a huge factor in fertility.”
Audra McDonald is expecting her second child to arrive in coming weeks. The actress is already mom to 13-year-old young star DJ Fulano.
