Chad Ochocinco received an unpleasant surprise at his child’s graduation a few days ago. The former NFL player was leaving his son’s middle school commencement when he was confronted by the grandmother of one of his other children who attempted to serve him with court documents.
According to TMZ,
“Chad was leaving his son’s middle school graduation in California last month, when he was confronted by the grandmother of one of his other children and some of her friends.
The woman was trying to serve Chad with court documents — in which he’s accused of stiffing the mother of his 14-year-old son out of $38k in back child support.”
While Chad didn’t deny owing child support, he told media that he could not afford to pay such amount. “I haven’t had an NFL paycheck since 2011,” he shared. “I have a nugget, but I have to make the cash last with all 6 kids for the next 18 years. We have to scale back.”
Chad is hoping to work out a financial plan that is suitable for both him and his son’s mother. The former athlete is scheduled to appear in court on August 2, 2016.
