Will Smith turned the party out at Cannes Lions Festival earlier this week. The actor had his son, Jaden, with him as he served as the event’s keynote speaker.

Jaden stood on the sidelines while Will got the crowd excited about the festival. Jackie Cooper interviewed Will during a segment of the event. The actor answered a myriad of questions that included inquiries about his success in show business that spans more than twenty years.

“Back in the ’80s, if you had a piece of crap, it was Wednesday [after a Friday debut] before people knew your movie was s***,” he said during Cannes. “But today, it’s 10 minutes into the movie before people are saying, ‘It’s s***, [let’s] go see Vin Diesel.'”

Smith went on to say, “The idea of smoke and mirrors in marketing is over. The people are going to know and they’re going to know globally.”
