JESSE JACKSON’S DAUGHTER GRADUATES FROM HIGH SCHOOL AND PENS ABOUT THE EXPERIENCE

Jackson

Congratulations to Ashley Jackson who graduated from high school a few days ago. The youngest daughter of Jesse Jackson took to her blog to talk about the experience of walking the stage and opening a new chapter in her life.

“I moved my tassel from left to right and then watched my classmates toss their graduation caps into the air,” Ashley wrote. “With excitement, I joined them in elated expressions, ecstatic to be liberated from the shackles of secondary school. Some of us cried, others screamed, some hit their best Milly Rock or Whip. We had reached a milestone that my freshman self felt would take forever.”

Although she was initially excited about graduating, Ashley’s exhilaration soon faded when she realized that the social scene of high school was over. “I sulked around the house,” she explained. “Seeking interaction with my millennial peers and a little excitement, I turned to FaceTime, Snapchat, Twitter, Instagram, and then group chats. At first we were a timid gathering, expressing our mutual loneliness. Over time, we began sharing examples of our PGB (Post Graduate Blues). One of our classmates said that he woke up at 7:50 am, panicked that he was late for school, only to realize that he would never attend high school again.”

Still, even with a tinge of sadness present, Ashley is looking forward to what lies ahead. The possibilities certainly are grand as the teen has already collaborated with music industry greats to release her single ‘Fleek.’ Ashley also started a blog that will, no doubt, be popular.
