Kerry Washington, Beyonce, and Viola Davis are three of many celebrity parents named as Working Mother’s most influential moms. The editorial released its list just in time for Mother’s Day.
Viola was recognized among the greats because of her impactful work as an actress. The celebrity mom has received two Tony awards along with Oscar and Golden Globe nods. One of her most powerful performances is as a maid in the hit film The Help.
Her role as a mother has also been recognized. “Becoming a mother has opened up my whole life and given me a whole new purpose,” Viola said shortly after adopting her daughter, Genesis, in 2011. “I feel like a star at home only because she loves me so much. I mean, it’s a red carpet everyday. It’s wonderful!”
Beyonce also feels like a sort of superstar at home as she recently told media that parenthood was her greatest achievement. “Out of everything I’ve accomplished, my proudest moment hands down was when I gave birth to my daughter Blue,” she said.
Kerry Washington, star of the hit series ‘Scandal,’ would also agree that motherhood is the greatest role as she sometimes brings her daughter, Isabelle, to work. “I’m really blessed because my daughter gets to be at work with me a lot so that’s really fun and wonderful,” she told ET Online last year. “She brings a lot of joy wherever she is so it’s fun to have her around.”
