Erykah Badu is spending time in the garden with her daughter. The singer recently shared pictures of her and Mars focusing on agriculture.
“Planting lambs ears in Phife Garden,” Erykah wrote. “Mama and Mars.” Badu instructed her daughter in the way of proper garden care and let Mars get her hands dirty during the process. The mother and daughter placed the fragile lamb’s ears in a plant bowl to ensure its growth.
Erykah has been quite vocal with her opinions these past few weeks. The singer recently responded to the Auckland debate surrounding a local high school’s decision to ban above-the-knee skirts. “There was an article ruling that high school girls lower their skirts so male teachers are not distracted,” Erykah told fans. “I agreed because I am aware that we live in a sex l-driven society. It is everyone’s, male and female’s, responsibility to protect young ladies. one way to protect youth is to remind them we are all sexual in nature and as they grow and develop it is natural to attract men.”
Badu went on to tell the public, “I want my daughters to understand this. I want them to be themselves and wear what they like, yet be aware, not ignore our differences.” Although she agreed with the school’s decision, Erykah made it clear that a man’s attraction to a girl is not unnatural. “Being attracted to a young woman in a short skirt does not make one a ‘pervert’ It makes them human,” she shared.
