Sherri Shepherd must continue to give financial support to her and Lamar Sally’s son, Lamar Jr., per a judge’s orders handed down a few days ago. PEOPLE confirms that the television personality lost her second appeal to be released of legal responsibility for Lamar Jr.
The editorial reports,
“Sherri Shepherd will continue to have to pay child support to ex husband Lamar Sally for a child the former couple had via a surrogate. The Pennsylvania Supreme Court declined to hear the former The View host’s case after an appeals court ruled that Shepherd was the boy’s legal mother.”
Sherri shared her reasoning behind having a child with Lamar by way of surrogate after he filed for divorce in 2014. “My situation was a sense of, I didn’t state what I needed and what I wanted and what I didn’t want for being scared of somebody leaving the relationship,” she said. “There are consequences to everything, but I was scared to say, ‘That’s not going to work for me. I don’t want that.'”
Little Lamar is Sherri’s only child with Lamar Sally. The television personality also has an older son named Jeffrey with ex-husband Jeff Tarpley.
