Toni Braxton had family and friends to support her at the private screening for her biopic, Unbreak My Heart, this past weekend. The singer was surrounded by her sisters and sons, Denim and Diezel, while celebrating the incredible showing.
Unbreak My Heart seeks to reveal the truth behind Toni’s career as a recording artist and trails back to the celebrity’s conservative upbringing. “I don’t think people understood that it was a cult-like upbringing,” the star says of her days singing in the church choir. She goes on to tell media that the biopic “explains the struggle of me being a singer was tough against those odds.”
While Braxton does not portray herself in the film, she is very satisfied with the executives’ choice of Lex Scott Davis for the role. “It’s great her being a homegirl from Baltimore,” Toni says. “She’s a wonderful girl, super talented,” she adds. “She doesn’t sing like me, but she can lip-sync the h*** out of me, OK?”
Unbreak My Heart makes its public debut on Lifetime this Saturday, January 23, 2016. Toni Braxton has two kids with ex-husband Keri Lewis.
