Garcelle Beauvais and her sons, Jaid and Jax, have been focused on giving back this holiday season. The actress and her youngsters spent Christmas Eve at the Los Angeles Mission in Downtown Los Angeles on Thursday, where they gave out goods to underprivileged residents of the city.
“Headed downtown to feed the #homeless #skidrowchristmas #jaxandjaid teaching compassion @lamission,” Garcelle shared with Instagram fans. The actress also uploaded a picture of her and the boys smiling while en route to their destination.
The Los Angeles Mission has been providing support for the homeless since 1936. The non-profit organization gives individuals housing, financial guidance and food that is meant to help in the rebuilding process. Several residents of the mission have testified to its effectiveness. “I had came here for a meal and I realized that there’s more than just a meal that they offer you,” said one tenant. “They offer you a thirteen month program where you’re actually able to live here, work here, and progress in your life.”
