Iman Shumpert gave the ultimate assist a few days ago when he delivered his and girlfriend Teyana Taylor’s daughter, Iman Tayla. The NBA star recounts the moment that Teyana gave birth to the newborn in the bathroom.
“She’s telling me, ‘I’m not going to make it to the hospital,'” says Shumpert. “But I’m like, ‘You got to make it to the hospital because I don’t know what’s going on. I don’t know what to do.'” Although he “didn’t know what to do,” Iman managed to deliver his daughter by himself and later receive instruction from the 911 dispatcher.
Now, Shumpert and Taylor are the exuberant parents. “We have successfully started our very own family,” Iman tells Instagram fans. “Our beautiful daughter is finally here and doing well along with her beautiful mother (my fiancé!!!). This is definitely the best assist I’ve ever recorded in my life. We were indeed terrified until I finally saw her hair…then the fear left and i kinda just knew what to do! Our bathroom is forever sacred.”
This is Iman and Teyana’s first child together.
