“Several years ago our world was turned upside down after Micah, one of our twin sons, was diagnosed with autism,” Shawn wrote in a candid letter. “At first, we met the diagnosis with denial, which later turned into hurt, confusion and an overwhelming sense of hopelessness. This was surely the biggest challenge that we had ever faced.” After overcoming frustration and other emotions, Shawn and his wife devised a plan. “We committed ourselves to seeking out every single resource that we could to help Micah.”

Now, the Stockmans are using their foundation to reach out to other families battling with the illness. “Our mission is to inspire and support families living with an autism diagnosis through programs that provide education, awareness and financial support. And we want to ensure that these special children can enjoy the best quality of life possible.”
