Leah Still enjoyed turkey and all the trimmings on Thanksgiving, cancer-free. Devon Still shared the splendid news of his daughter’s latest doctor visit, which showed no signs of cancer, with fans a few days ago.
“Thanks for all the support and prayers,” Devon wrote on Instagram. “Just got the phone call that her scans showed NED (no evidence of disease)!” Still also posted a picture of his daughter rocking finger waves on Thanksgiving. “Leah tried to snap today with the finger waves. It’s Thanksgiving so it’s only right,” captioned the NFL player.
Devon and Leah have endured much since the 5-year-old was diagnosed with stage four cancer last year. Still placed everything, including his career, on hold to be by his daughter’s side. Although the road to recovery has presented its share of challenges, Leah has remained strong and inspired thousands, including her father, with her story.
“From the moment you [were] born, you molded me into the man I am today,” Devon said at the 2015 ESPY Awards. The Cincinatti Bengals player was accepting the Jimmy V Perseverance Award on Leah’s behalf. “I always used to dream about how I was going to be able to show you so much about life, but in the five years I’ve been with you, you’ve taught me more about life than I could ever do.”
Leah celebrated her fifth birthday in May. She is Devon Still’s only child. Listen to the sweet exchange between father and daughter below!
