There is nothing like having the support of your famous parents while exploring your talents. Jaden and Willow certainly have such pillars as their father, Will Smith, tells Ellen DeGeneres that he and wife Jada Pinkett-Smith get behind their kids’ passions.
“Jaden, because we’re both artists, we decided a long time ago that it’s sort of better to flow with what people are naturally, more than, like, what our egos need them to be,” says Will of his son. He adds, “We really try to find the things that they’re (Jaden and Willow) good at, and support those things rather than forcing them. Jaden loves math, Willow is more of a reader so, you know, we kind of just support those things.”
It was just last week that Willow, the youngest child of the Smith clan, rang in her fifteenth birthday. “Teenagers should be [considered] an affliction,” jokes Will. “Like, when people come up to you, like, ‘Hey Will, how you doing?’ — ‘Awww man I got teenager. It takes everything you have to raise teenagers.”
Will and Jada Smith have two kids, Willow and Jaden, together. Mr. Smith also has an adult son named Trey from a previous relationship. Watch Will’s latest interview with Ellen here!
