Jessica Bartholomew is a surrogate no more, thanks to Sherri Shepherd. The 33-year-old agreed to helping the television personality have baby Lamar over a year ago, and has experienced nothing but hardship ever since.
“I will never help another mother have a baby,” says Jessica. “Sherri put me and my family through so much emotionally and almost ruined me financially so I will never trust anyone to go through that again.”
Bartholomew further comments on Sherri and ex-husband Lamar Sally’s troubled relationship by telling the Daily Mailthat she was unaware of the turmoil that the former couple was encountering.
“If I had known this was Sherri’s attempt to save her marriage,’ says Jessica, ‘there is no way I would have agreed to this surrogacy. Since when has a baby saved a marriage? Never.”
In addition, Jessica tells Daily Mail that she didn’t get much from the deal. “I received $25,000 to be the surrogate. But ironically, because of a medically induced medical condition I was out of work from May until October so I really didn’t make any money on this arrangement, I actually went into a hole.”
Little Lamar is Sherri Shepherd’s only son with Lamar Sally Sr. He celebrated his first birthday earlier this year. Sherri was ordered to pay child support for little Lamar a few weeks ago. She currently gives her ex-husband $4,100 per month for care.
