Those who watched the TODAY show all week caught Heavenly Joy Jenkins this past Monday. The little one sang comforting songs to co-host Kathy Lee Gifford who lost her husband, Frank Gifford, suddenly earlier this month.
Heavenly was introduced in the most adorable way. Video footage of the 5-year-old singing ‘This Little Light of Mine’ was shown right before she came out to meet Kathy. The anchor was overcome with emotion as she told fans how much of a blessing the little one was to her during this difficult time.
Frank Gifford died suddenly on August 9, 2015. He was 84-years-old. Kathy has received much support from fans and co-workers since her husband’s passing.
“He passed away instantly that morning all dressed in what he knew was my favorite outfit,” said Kathy during Monday’s show. “I’m grateful that the Lord took him that way,” added the co-host. “He never wanted to be a burden.”
