The night was young and vibrant at Fairview Farms in Water Mill, New York, on Saturday as Russell Simmons and the family celebrated the 16th annual Art for Life event on behalf of the entrepreneur’s foundation. RUSH Philanthropic Arts Foundation commemorated two decades of making a difference in the community, and dozens of society’s notables supported the Art for Life fundraiser.
Kimora Lee Simmons, who was unable to attend, donated $150,000 to the charity’s efforts. President Obama spoke well of the RUSH foundation in a speech delivered by famed journalist Soledad O’Brien.
“For two decades the Rush Philanthropic Arts Foundation has empowered young Americans with opportunities to explore their creativity and express themselves through art,” read the speech. “Our nation’s daughters are future doers and change makers and your efforts are helping them unlock their greatest potential so they can reach for bold ideas and bright futures.”
Saturday’s gathering was sponsored by the Bombay Sapphire Gin. Russell’s daughters took a number of pictures with attendees, and didn’t let the party end before taking a few candids with their cousins. Angela. Jojo and Russell Jr. proudly supported their uncle Russell and his foundation in his efforts at the celebration. They were definitely dressed to impress.
The RUSH Philanthropic Arts Foundation made its debut in 1995. Russell Simmons has two kids with ex-wife Kimora Lee Simmons.
