Great news. Ashley Jackson, daughter of Reverend Jesse Jackson, has found her passion in music. The 16-year-old recently joined Q Parker in the studio to create lyrics and beats that will reach the current generation of listeners.
“The thing that I love about Ashley is that from the moment she came into the studio she was very receptive, eager to learn, eager to listen,” says Q Parker of his newest talent. “She really was a sponge,” adds the producer. “For her to come in, so young as she is, and just be way beyond her years, it really motivated me.”
Ashley identifies herself as both a singer and rapper who was inspired by Beyonce and Alicia Keys to explore a career in music. “She is such a powerful artist, and I love what she stands for in and outside of the artistry,” says Ashley of Alicia Keys. The young singer also admired Alicia’s ability to play the piano and sing.
In five years, Jackson hopes to have a few things accomplished. “I feel like I will be signed to a major record label and, hopefully, brand ambassador for a fashion line,” says the artist. She also hopes to have been mentored by Jay-Z. “He’s such an incredible businessman.”
