Madilyn and Mason Smith had a fun day at their school spring festival last week. The pair wore costumes that represented their mom’s hometown of New Orleans.
“We are representing Louisiana for the spring festival, ” shared Monyetta Shaw with Instagram fans. “Madi will be a cute little Mardi Gras Princess and Maso will be a cute little jazz musician w/o the props.” Madilyn and Mason had everything, including the Mardi Gras beads, that screamed “Big Easy” for the festival.
Although they are a number of months apart in birth, the brother and sister are inseparable. “I was about to lose my mind when I found out that we were pregnant again,” said Monyetta when asked by media about her reaction upon learning that she was pregnant just months after giving birth to Madilyn in 2010. “God knew exactly what he was doing,” added the children’s author. “They are the best of friends. They are super close, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.”
Madilyn celebrated her fourth birthday last November. Mason turned 3-years-old the month before. The brother and sister are Monyetta’s kids with producer Ne-Yo.
