Lauryn Hill wasn’t able to participate in this year’s May Day Live Concert in Nigeria but she didn’t leave her fans too disappointed. The singer took to social media with her daughter, Sarah Marley, and backup singers to apologize for her absence and leave them with an acoustic version of ‘Doo Wop (That Thing).’
“Hello Lagos, Nigeria,” wrote Lauryn on her blog. “We are disappointed to report that we will not be performing at tonight’s concert. From our end, we did everything we were supposed to do, including waiting at the airport for many hours, ready to fly out and share the evening with you. Unfortunately, after much effort, the promoter was not able to get all of our travel arrangements taken care of.” Hill told fans that she was working to reschedule an appearance in the near future.
Sarah sang along with Lauryn’s backup singers during the apologetic video that the R&B sensation shared on YouTube. Check it out below. Sarah is one of six children that Lauryn Hill has with Rohan Marley.
