Garcelle Beauvais and her ex-husband Mike Nilon are putting their differences aside in order to co-parent their twin boys Jax and Jaid. “No matter what, we’re still family,” the actress captions of a photo showing the family on a recent school field trip.
Beauvais and Nilon were married for nine years until she discovered he was cheating. Upon discovering his infidelity, Garcelle sent an email to her husband’s co-workers, accusing him of a five-year affair. The email was later leaked to The New York Post.
“When I actually looked and realized it had been leaked, I was sobbing, sobbing,” she says in a new interview with Oprah. “It’s embarrassing. At the same time, you’re in pain. It was another part of the devastation, honestly.”
Garcelle has since moved on from the devastation. “I went to therapy. I got a life coach. I did all the things that they say you should do because I didn’t want my adult drama to affect my kids. I couldn’t have moved on and been a good parent and co-parent with him if I didn’t do those things. We’re doing the best we can for those boys. They deserve it.”
