Alfonso Ribeiro won big at this year’s Long Beach Grand Prix. The ‘Dancing With the Stars’ winner took first place in the Pro/Celebrity Race, and had his wife and son cheering for him in the crowd.
Ribeiro began in fourteenth place but quickly moved up to first and maintained his spot throughout the race. The actor finished the competition in just over eighteen minutes, which was fifteen seconds faster than runner-up Dave Pasant.
“My wife is expecting, literally any moment,” said Alfonso after the race. “I wanted to prove to her that if she goes into labor, I can get her to the hospital on time, and safely — there’s not a scratch on that thing,” joked Alfonso.
The actor went on to tell fans that he was surprised to win. “To be the overall winner is shocking,” shared the star. “It was really special, to have won ‘Dancing With the Stars’ last year, to win this, a baby due any day. It’s been a fantastic year, and I feel really blessed.”
Alfonso and wife Angela Ribeiro are expecting their second child. The Ribeiros are already the proud parents of a son, Alfonso Jr., and Alfonso has a daughter named Sienna from a previous relationship.
