Laila Ali enjoyed a bit of little league soccer this past Sunday as her son, Curtis Jr., played with his team. The youngster, who is already 6-years-old, had a lot of support coming from his mom, dad and little sister.
Sydney sat on Laila’s lap and smiled while her brother competed for the win. “Love coming to my sons soccer games on Sundays hanging with the family,” wrote Laila on Facebook.
The star athlete has teamed up with the USTA to encourage families to get active. “My kids know the importance of being active,” said Ali during a recent interview with Shape. “That’s why teaming up with the USTA was such an organic fit for me. They are making strives to get families outside—and using tennis as a way to get kids to stay active.”
Laila also shared her and the family’s best time to workout, which is in the morning. “It has to be a priority,” explained the celebrity. “I have to get a workout in in the morning. Once my day starts, I’ll have the best intentions and it still won’t happen: one of the kids needs to be picked up somewhere, I have to hop on a conference call, or I’m just tired. So I get it done in the a.m. But give yourself leeway! I’ll choose rest over working out sometimes—it’s just as important. I am consistent and I know I’ll get right back on it, so I do allow myself to rest without feeling guilty.”
Laila and husband Curtis Conway have two children, Sydney and Curtis Jr., together. The couple parents five kids in all.
