Mrs. Hardrict has been quite busy preparing for her new series, Tia Mowry at Home, which is set to premiere on the Cooking Channel in April. Despite having a demanding career that sometimes calls her away from home, Tia tells media that she manages to maintain balance.
“I’m a mom. I’m a wife. I’m an actress. I’m an executive producer. I’m an author. I’m an entrepreneur and I’m a sister and a best friend,” says the star. “The number one key is to basically prioritize. I’m a mother and wife first because family is important to me, and a part of having a balanced life is not feeling guilty about taking care of yourself.”
Tia continues, “I will never forget being told by a woman that is a writer, producer and a mother as well. I admire her and asked ‘How do you do it?’ and she told me, ‘You have to take care of the goose, in order for the goose to lay the egg.’ So in order for you to be able to execute all of those different qualities as a woman and as a person, you have to take care of yourself. It’s easy for us to feel guilty when we put ourselves first, but when this woman said it to me from this perspective, it was so clear and so true.”
Cree is Tia and husband Cory Hardrict’s only child. He will celebrate his fourth birthday this summer. Tia Mowry at Home premieres on April 29, 2015, at 9:00 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT. Movie fanatics can see Home on the big screen this Friday (March 27).
