Happy Birthday Sophie! Boris Kodjoe and Nicole Ari Parker celebrated their daughter’s tenth birthday last week. Boris wrote a beautiful letter to the tween in honor of her special day.
“The day I met your mother I knew I was ready to be a man,” the note began. “The day I met you I became one. You’ve shown me what true strength and courage is and you taught me that the love of faith and the faith in love is one and the same.”
Boris went on to praise his daughter for her resilience in the face of difficulty. “I’m in awe of your ability to defy the odds and I marvel at the confidence with which you produce miracle after miracle. You smile your way through life and your light touches everyone around you,” wrote the star.
Sophie was diagnosed with spina bifida at birth. Although many challenges have come her way since then, the youngster has managed to cope with the illness, thanks to her family.
Nicole Ari Parker and Boris Kodjoe have two kids, Sophie and Nicolas, together. Sophie, the couple’s eldest child, was born on March 5, 2005.
