Halle Berry and Maceo Martinez took time out of their busy schedules to go grocery shopping this past weekend. The mother and son were spotted at Bristol Farms in Beverly Hills, California, on Friday.
Berry recently told media that she is happy to see the quality of work among African American creators despite being the only black actress to win an Oscar for playing a leading role to date. “I’m inspired though, when I see how many people of color are doing such good work out there,” said the star.
She continued, “The quality and value of our work isn’t determined by an award. I would like to see more of them recognized, absolutely, but we all need to find the win in the work, and doing our craft. The real win is when we’re not just selling stories of color, that people of color can be in everyday stories. Where we’re not saying: ‘These are the movies for black people.'”
Maceo is Halle and husband Olivier Martinez’s first child together. The actress also has a daughter named Nahla from a previous relationship.
