It seems Stephen and Ayesha Curry are becoming household names. From her amazing cooking sessions on YouTube that attract thousands of viewers to his competitive spirit that leads to incredible plays on the basketball court, the Currys are certainly making their mark. While many may attribute the family’s recent success to years of hard work, Ayesha tells Called magazine that her faith has led to her current lot in life.
“God is the center of everything in my life,” says Ayesha. “My relationship with God has shaped the way I see my role as a wife and mom. I’m not perfect, but I do my best to let it shape all my choices. My faith is my identity,” shares the basketball wife.
Mrs. Curry further explains her motivation behind sharing cooking tips on YouTube while striving to be the best mom and parent that she can be. “It took me a while to figure out what my calling and passion is. I now know it’s my family and cooking. I feel [they’ve] given me a great platform to spread [God’s] Word. It took a giant leap of faith to take a look at myself in the mirror, and allow God to redirect my path. But I am so glad that I did.”
So what about her husband and daughter? “I love being [Stephen’s] wife, and Riley’s mom. I see it as a gift, and a special calling. Some people [undervalue] the importance of those roles. And others don’t think being a devoted wife and patient mom are huge accomplishments. But if we, as women, can create a loving home – if we can make our families feel loved and cared for – if we can be there for our husbands, and support them 100 percent – that’s success.”
Stephen and Ayesha Curry have once daughter, Riley, together. The couple are expecting their second child to arrive in July.
